BDB Family Tree - Qhuinn, Blay, Layla, Xcor

We’ve arrived to a complicated but awesome section of the family trees I’m creating for The Black Dagger Brotherhood book series by J.R. Ward. Qhuinn and his family required A LOT of lines. But I think I got it all together in a legible manner. So…

This family tree includes the bloodlines and known relatives/descendants of:

Qhuinn, Blaylock, Layla, Qhuinn, Lyric, Rhampage

You know the drill – click the image to see it blown up nearly as big as Rhage’s Beast.

General Notes:

Qhuinn’s bloodline color is turquoise, and I assume that Lash’s (adopted) bloodline is the same color, since their fathers are brothers.
The Chosen all have gold for the bloodline ribbon color.
It got really complicated arranging the lines to accommodate all three relevant parent sets for Lyric and Rhampage:
- Qhuinn and Layla as biological parents – main bloodline color for the twins is turquoise, like their daddy.
- Qhuinn and Blay, with Blay as the adoptive father.
- Layla and Xcor, with Xcor as the stepfather – or adopted father? I believe as it stands he is considered a stepdad, but clearly he is involved in all decision making and so I just showed him with the same types of line as Blay has.
I struggled a bit with this one, since I still harbor some hard feelings about how The Chosen book played out. It’s hard to get on board with Xcor as an accepted part of the household, despite his attempted assasination on Wrath in prior books.
It was real hard to get past Layla endangering her unborn childrens’ lives by consorting with the enemy, even if she did think it was for the greater good.
ALSO REAL HARD TO GET PAST QHUINN WITH AN EFFING GUN IN THE MANSION. I STILL LOVE HIM BUT DAMN GINA, THAT WAS NOT OK.
As the books progress it gets easier. Maybe if Xcor saves another life, and Qhuinn apologizes to every parent in that house, I might forgive them. Might.
I know that Blay’s parents (Rocke and Lyric I) didn’t officially adopt Qhuinn, but I felt like they deserved credit. They’ve loved him more than his biological family since day one, and they consider him to be another son to them. Case closed.
