The Best Cat Songs From Sitcoms – Which Is Your Fave?

I realized recently that there are a good number of random sitcom songs about cats. As such, I felt it necessary to compile them here for your viewing/listening pleasure! Watch em all, and then vote for your fave :)

Lyrics added per request!

Smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you?
Smelly cat, smelly cat, it’s not your fault.
They won’t take you to the vet.
You’re obviously not their favorite pet.
It may not be a bed of roses.
And you’re no friend to those with noses.

First up is Phoebe from Friends singing “Smelly Cat”

Then Sheldon and Penny from The Big Bang Theory singing “Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty”

Soft kitty, warm kitty
Little ball of fur
Happy kitty, sleepy kitty
Purr, purr, purr

Finally, two entries by Marshall from How I Met Your Mother – “Cat Sitting for Lily’s Mom”, and “Cat Funeral”

Cat-sittin’ for Lily’s mom
Cat-sittin’ for Lily’s mo-o-m
It’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna bring us all closer together

Cat funeral
Cat funeral
It was an accident
And not entirely my fault
(meow meow meow meow)
We’ll miss you Whiskers
(meeeoooooow)

Which do you prefer? “Smelly Cat” is a classic, and “Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty” will warm your heart. “Cat Sitting for Lily’s Mom” starts off optimistic – “it’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna bring us all closer together!”, but quickly goes to a bad place. I think “Cat Funeral” is my favorite. Mainly because Marshall sings “it was an accident…and not entirely my fault (meow meow meow meow…we’ll miss you Whiskers)”.
