Big Bang Theory Goes Glam: I’m A Princess & This Is My Tiara!

For a few glorious moments on Thursday night, The Big Bang Theory went for The Big Bling Theory, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Why? Because I’m pretty sure this is exactly how I would respond to the gift of a tiara. Doesn’t even have to be diamonds – could be CZs, or rhinestones, hell, even a Burger King kid’s crown gives me a thrill. Amy Farrah Fowler and I should totally hang out.

Amy: Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon, you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently manipul…OHHHHHHHH It’s a tiara! A tiara! I have a tiara! Put it on me, put it on me, put it on me, put it on me, put it on me, put it on me!

Penny: You look beautiful!

Amy: OF COURSE I DO. I’M A PRINCESS AND THIS IS MY TIARA!

Sheldon: You’re right, the tiara was too much.

The Big Bang Theory, season 5 episode 12 “The Shiny Trinket Maneuver”

I love this scene because the tiara wasn’t too much – it was exactly right for her. Sheldon managed to select the perfect present for a woman that still craves typical teenage girl experiences like slumber parties, shopping trips, and being crowned homecoming queen. The tiara is like wish fulfillment via accessories! I wish I had one…
