How I Met Your Mother: Character Family Trees

Brunch_photo

Welcome to another post where I collect random HIMYM knowledge and present it to you in a fun-filled, easy to read format! I thought it would be interesting to compile all of the family info we have for each main player in the world of How I Met Your Mother. 1. I love this! So much detail. I wanted to add that Robin did mention she had a schizophrenia uncle who had perfect site in ‘Brunch’.

  2. wow!
i know some of the main characters are far from traditional, but i never thought i’d see 5 (!) bullet points under one’s “Parents” :))

thanks for doing such a thorough job, as usual, Corina!

Two things you might want to add/change:
    – i don’t know if this counts, but we get a glimpse of Ted’s wedding day to the Mother in “Lucky Penny”, season 2 if i’m not mistaken.

    – Carly Whittaker is Barney’s PATERNAL half-sister (not maternal)

    1. I wasn’t sure about that wedding scene, because it seemed more like Ted just imagining how it would feel to marry someone other than Robin. It all felt very Friends-y to me :) And I will fix Carly’s info at once – how could I have gotten that wrong?!

At some point I plan to add pics of everyone but dang that’s a lot of people to sort through.

      1. i think the wedding scene you’re referring to is the one at the end of “Milk” –

        that’s in Ted’s mind.

The one I meant was at the end of Lucky Penny i believe, which is, as i understand it, a flash fwd of Ted’s actual wedding (funny how yound Josh Radnor was when they shot it):

i think the stained-glass windows are the same, but look at those flowers!! :D

        1. Oh okay yes I was thinking of the wrong one. I don’t specifically remember this scene but I believe you. They also had a sort of fake out wedding in Double Date, which seems to be in front of a different but similar set of stained glass. They’re so tricky!
