My sisters and I are quite talented, but we have one big difference in common – the desire for fame. Do not want, thanks. I have absolutely no interest in becoming a celebrity, while my youngest sister fully intends to become a teen pop star. My other sister is pursuing the acting route, kicking ass at school musicals and community productions. I can sing, and I think I can act, but I don’t really see the appeal of doing those things for acclaim. I would love to be rich, don’t get me wrong…but the whole celebrity thing is really unappealing. No privacy is no bueno in my book. With a blog, though, it gets a little complicated. I don’t want to be famous, but I do, of course, want people to visit my blog. Hopefully they find something fun or funny or thoughtful that resonates with them, or at least makes them pause to think. Yesterday I had a jump in views – like 100 hits, all scattered across my articles. Where did you people come from? I’m so intrigued. That’s about as famous as I care to get, with some people reading my writing. I aim to become a professional, published author, but even that has drawbacks. I don’t want to do book tours or signings or anything like that. I just want to write stuff that people like to read, and ultimately get paid to do so. But in the meantime, I’m not turning away blog visitors. I imagine you can be much more anonymous as a blog star than a teen pop star, ya know? And my double digit number fluke of day doesn’t exactly point towards me becoming a famous blogger. So I think it will all work out!
